Cytogenetic Studies in Amenorrhea


Abstract
This investigation represents a chromosomal study of 81 patients with primary and. secondary amenorrhea referred for suspected chromosomal abnormalities from Jan. 1984 to Dec. 1985. The results were as follows.
1. The most prevalent age group was 21-25 years of age group.
2. Out of 81 cases, 61 cases (75.3%) had the normal chromosome constitution and-20 cases (24.7%) had the abnormal chromosome constitution including 46, XY.
3. Twenty cases who had the abnormal chromosome constitution included one patient with a 45, X tonstitution, one 45, X,15p+ five 45, X/46X,i (Xq), one 45, X/46, XXq+, one 45, X/ 46,X,inv(X),one 45, X/46, X,+mar, one 46, XX146, XY, three 46, XY, one 46,X,i (Xq), one 46, XXp-, -21, t (21;X), one 46, XX, inv (9) (p12 q21), one 46, XX, 22p+, one 46, XX, 15p+, one 46, XXp-
